Tips for Android and Apple Phone Cameras

Change picture size for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge by Email

  • Open up your camera app and tap the picture size button in the settings bar. From there, you can choose between three different aspect ratios - 4:3, 16:9, and 1:1. You can also choose the resolution of the image

Or

  • Open the file in Gallery
  • Select Share
  • Select Email
  • Select RESIZE IMAGE - You have 3 size options: Large (70%), Medium (30%), Small (10%)

Setting up picture size for Galaxy S8 camera picture size

  • Go to the preview screen on your Galaxy S8 to set the picture size.
  • You can use any of the four methods to start the camera app on your Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Plus.
  • Click on the icon for the picture size settings.
  • Choose the picture size in your pop-out window on your Galaxy S8 camera.
  • If you use the front camera, you will have less picture size for the Galaxy S8 camera.
  • You can only choose 3 options: 3.7M, 3.8M, and 5.0M.

Keep in mind; the consistency of the picture size for the Galaxy S8 camera is not good. What this means for the settings on the Galaxy S8 cameras is that the picture size is only for the current session. The default picture size for the Galaxy S8 camera will be in place once you leave the camera app.

Resize a Photo from the iPhone by Email

  • From the Photos app, select the photo(s) you want to resize then tap on the “Share” option (the little arrow icon)
  • Choose “Mail” and select the recipient, choosing your own email as the recipient if you want to just resize an image and share it with yourself
  • Tap on “Send” to bring about the resize options, choose one of the following to change the resolution of the picture as follows:
  • “Small” is 320×240 – so small it’s basically useless, hard to imagine a scenario where this size would be appropriate
  • “Medium” is 640×480″ – probably what ‘small’ should be
  • “Large” is 1632×1224 – exactly half of the full size image, the halving applies to all iOS devices for now
  • “Actual” is 3264×2448 – the full size image taken from the iPhone camera, not resized or compressed
